Week 2 - Thing #4 June 2010

I registered knowing that I will be working on my own with comment from the group. That's okay. I'm just glad this opportunity exists. I can't wait to review what I did before and get to the items I didn't finish. wish me luck.

Week 2 - Thing #2 June 2010

Well I used my old blog page, but I went back and played around with it. I changed my avatar to reflect a new hairstyle. I even added a cat in the Deep Creek purple sweater as a token of love for my sweet grananimal Frankenstein who passed away. He is always in my heart and in my imaginary library! I don't think I can register my blog since I'm "out of state," but I'll try.

Week 1 - Thing #1 & 2 June 2010

Well, I'm returning to School Library Learning 2.0 this summer. Last year I didn't finish. I can't remember why, but I want to complete the 23Things this summer. So I'm going back to the beginning. I'm using the blog I created but making some changes so that I can refresh my memory of how to set up a blog.

I read the intro blog and understand that I'm a renegade from "out of state." I don't get feedback but I'm just glad I have this opportunity. This is a great training opportunity.

I watched the video on the 7 and 1/2 Habits of Successful Lifelong Learners. The most difficult habit for me is viewing problems as challenges and having confidence. The easiest would be accepting responsibility for my own learning. I think I'm very much a lifelong learner but want to improve on my skills. Use it or lose it!

Week #5 Thing #11

I examined Facebook since I know so many students use this and I was genuinely curious.  I can see how addictive it could be.  I think it would be a great tool and really allow people to stay in contact.  I created an account and looked up many people but didn't go any further.  I plan to go back later and try to connect with some of my students who have gone on to college.    I also joined the Teacher-Librarian Ning and enjoyed reading the forums and looking a the pictures and videos.  I need to get involved by commenting and collecting friends but I haven't had time to delve into any one of these features in any depth.
