Week #5 Thing #11

I examined Facebook since I know so many students use this and I was genuinely curious.  I can see how addictive it could be.  I think it would be a great tool and really allow people to stay in contact.  I created an account and looked up many people but didn't go any further.  I plan to go back later and try to connect with some of my students who have gone on to college.    I also joined the Teacher-Librarian Ning and enjoyed reading the forums and looking a the pictures and videos.  I need to get involved by commenting and collecting friends but I haven't had time to delve into any one of these features in any depth.

Week #5 Thing#10

Here's my image.  There are lots of options.  I need to play around with these more.
I created this at ImageChef   http://www.imagechef.com/

Week #4 Thing #9

I am still overwhelmed with all the choices.  I found that it was best to add my local newspaper feed and a few other news feeds that I like.  I also found some feeds through  LM_NET postings.  I am also looking for  feeds mentioned in my reading.

Week #4 Thing #8

Wow, I'm a bit overwhelmed.  There are so many feeds to look at.  I think I've subscribed to too many.  I actually deleted some of them.  I'm attending a Web 2.0 workshop in Chester VA on Monday and using this 23 Things sight to get me ready.  I am amazed at how much there is to this topic.  I'm not sure how I would use RSS feeds beyond my personal use.,but I'm sure I'll get good ideas from other librarians in  the workshop.  I hope to share what I learn with my staff this coming school year.
